Between the council periodic elections that take place every four years, the Electoral Commission SA is occasionally required to hold elections to fill vacancies that arise on councils.

Polling September 2025 Supplementary Elections
Due to the high volume of supplementary election events scheduled for September, our candidate portal is currently unable to accommodate individual Council names (as listed below). As a result, we have opted to use the generic label "September 2025 Supplementary Elections" on the portal’s landing page. Candidates wishing to nominate will select this option, after which they can proceed to nominate within their respective election.
