If elected I will strive to ensure that decisions made by the District Council of Mount Remarkable reflect the needs and wishes of the community. I have been a local resident of Port Germein for the past eleven years and am interested in making the area a better place to live, to bring up children and to retire. I was born in Tumby Bay, have been married for thirty years, have one married son and three grandchildren. I have worked in the area of Early Childhood Education and Care since 1996 and have a strong passion for preserving our environment and local history for future generations. I have previous experience as an Elected Member of the District Council of Lower Eyre Peninsula from 1993 - 1995. In seeking your support for the vacant council position I provide the following insight. I am semi retired and live and operate my livestock farm at Mambray Creek which I purchased in 2001. My working life consists of working and managing pastoral cattle and sheep operations, my farm, consulting and the last 15 plus years as a National Operations Manager for a Federal Statutory Authority. My experiences and expertise are diverse including; governance, managing and leading executive multi discipline teams, multi million $ budgets, capacity building, strategic management, policy development and implementation, high level negotiation, strategic innovation and securing funding with Federal, State and Territory governments. Designing and implementing innovative capacity building and employment and training programs with sustainable career pathways particularly for Indigenous youth has been a life long passion.
